Upgrading UI & archiving legacy planning

Written by Arthur Ashdown

We have given the front end (the visual part you interact with) a refresh by moving from Angular.js to Vue.js technology. This means:

  • A fresher look and feel: You might notice a slightly new design, but don't worry, everything you need will still be familiar and easy to find.

  • Smoother sailing for big data: Working with large datasets? This update will make things run faster and smoother.

  • A more enjoyable ride: We've made things more responsive and user-friendly for an overall better experience.

Behind the Scenes:

This upgrade also allows us to provide you with even better support in the future. Vue.js is a more modern framework that makes it easier for us to keep things running smoothly and add new features you'll love.

A Gentle Heads Up:

As with any change, there's a chance you might encounter something unfamiliar at first. But don't worry! We've designed the transition to be as seamless as possible. Continue reading for more details of the new features.

If you have any questions or need help finding something, our friendly support team is always happy to assist. Just click the envelope button within MaxOptra to raise a support query or email [email protected]

Preview of the changes

New form design We've redesigned the Driver, Vehicle, Distribution Centre, and Vehicle Type forms! Instead of all data on one page, information is now grouped into clear sections: Basics, Operating Hours, Execution, and Constraints. This makes it faster and easier to find and update the settings you need. See Getting to know the new forms page to preview design.

Manual planning auto-resequence By default, after the migration the auto-resequencing will be OFF. If you are manual planning and rely on MaxOptra to schedule the sequence automatically for you, please re-enable this option after migration.

What is not supported anymore? We know some legacy features were useful, but with the upgrade, not all will be supported. We’re working to replicate key functions or offer alternatives. For example:

  • Orders with 0mins driving time and operation time will not be visible on timeline. Please use the table view to see a list of all orders on a route to show those orders.

  • Orders with vehicles requirements are not outlined with red on the map pins any longer. Please use the customisable pins set to vehicle requirement as an alternative.

  • Breaks are no longer available in dispatcher settings on planning as they should be set at an account level. Also see What's New for upcoming improvements to BREAKS.
