Scheduling settings: Overnight operations and shifts for mixed fleet

Written by Arthur Ashdown

In MaxOptra it is possible to schedule overnight orders using flexible configuration of shifts for your fleet.

The maximum possible shift duration is 5 days, thus, you will be able to plan your orders for 5 days ahead - starting from the day you do planning (Previous day) for the next 5 days.

In the Driver form the following shift duration options are available:

Same day - Shows the initial day of planning. In MaxOptra means tomorrow plans.

Previous day - Shows the current day of planning. In MaxOptra means today.

Next day - Indicates the day after the actual planning day.

Day +2 - Enables the driver's availability for 2 days after the planning day.

Day +3 - Enables the driver's availability for 3 days after the planning day.

Day +4 - Enables the driver's availability for 4 days after the planning day, thus, together with the planning day, it makes up a 5-day overnight shift.

To prevent overlapping of driver's availability hours in case of multi-day shifts, MaxOptra will show you a warning.

In this case you should correct the working times to avoid overlapping (disable the corresponding days in the example below).

For more details, also see Scheduling Multi-day Shifts.
