Planning tool is a new version of planning screen that has been rewritten in new technology that will be faster to manage many orders. There have also been some UX updates and details about these are below.
The 'legacy' planning screen will remain in MaxOptra and all accounts will be notified well in advance before it is removed.

# Planning tool top tips
1. Planning tool will always load the next day of planning when opening MaxOptra
# New Map Options
2. Click on cog
3. Click on Use routing to update straight lines to route lines
4. Click on Grayscale mode for map for easy viewing of routes
5. Click on Customisable under Marker view to change the pins
6. Change unplanned order pins to any of the following. e.g. Weight
7. Change pins for planned orders to any of the following e.g. planned arrival time
8. Now you can expand the map into a new window. This is useful if you are using two screens
# Planning orders
9. The error bin is now a separate tab. It will highlight red when there is more than 1 order in there
10. Click on # orders to go back to unplanned orders
11. There is a new 8h filter on the Gantt timeline view
12. Click the arrow to view the capacity info for each run
13. The daily runs KPI's have been moved here
14. Click on the driver/vehicle card to open the table view for that run
15. Table view is now a pop up that is resizable
16. Click the cog icon to adjust the columns in the table to your preference
17. Check Type
18. To send all locked run details to driver, the message button has moved to the top right.
# Order item dimensions
Dimensions on order items is only visible on the new planning tool
19. Click on Items
20. Click on Add
21. Height, width, length weight and volume are visible in the item form
These fields are just informational and can also be input by the driver on the app
