As a rule the account configuration is done on the System Configuration. But sometimes, during scheduling, you may want to edit the planning settings for the current planning day. In MaxOptra you can do it right from the Planning screen.
Click the
button on the upper panel to open the Settings window.
Do not forget that the settings you've changed via the Settings window on the Planning screen are applied only for the current day. If you want to use these settings for other days as well, you will have to go through the calendar and change them for every day you select.
Planning preferences
On the Planning preference tab, you can edit the following scheduling settings:
Enable toll roads.
If you want your fleet vehicles to make several runs per day, then tick the checkbox Allow several runs for a vehicle per day.
Choose the planning mode: usingterritories, using groups of territories or without territories. To know more about territories, refer to the Territories / Groups of territories section.
Th OBTL (On Board Time Limit) tab enables you to set on board time limit for deliveries and collections. For example, when transporting perishable goods, it may be necessary to limit the time of transportation. Time limit can be set in days, hours or minutes. Tick th Enable on board time limit for deliveries and/or Enable on board time limit for collection checkboxes and set the time limit.
Operation duration
Use the Operation duration tab to set time windows for different operations: loading and unloading, drop and pickup.
Operation duration settings are split into three groups according to operation periods:
Beginning of the route:
Fixed loading duration is the fixed time for loading at the depot before the run start.
Variable loading duration (per unit)* is the time for loading of one unit at the depot before the run start. It can be set in minutes, seconds and milliseconds.
During the route:
Fixed time per address is the additional time to get to a customer.
Fixed time per order is the fixed operation time for each order at the customer location.
Variable duration per capacity unit delivery* is the time for drop-off of one capacity unit at the customer location. It can be set in minutes, seconds and milliseconds.
Variable duration per capacity unit collection* is the time for pickup of one capacity unit at the customer location. It can be set in minutes, seconds and milliseconds.
End of the route:
Fixed unloading duration is the fixed time for unloading at the depot after the run end.
Variable unloading duration (per unit)* is the time for unloading of one unit at the depot after the run end. It can be set in minutes, seconds and milliseconds.
*Weight unit is considered to be a capacity unit.
To understand it better, let us consider the following example.
You have a delivery order,**100 kg **and the following operation duration limits:
Fixed loading duration set for your account is 20 minutes.
Variable loading duration (per unit) is 1 minute.
Fixed time per address is 10 minutes.
Fixed time per order is 10 minutes.
Variable duration per capacity unit delivery is 1 minute.
Having these parameters, the loading duration of a 100kg order at the depot will be: 20+1100=120 minutes = 2 hours. Total operation duration for the order (without driving time) will be: 20+1100+10+10+1*100=240 minutes = 4 hours.
Capacity units
Use the Capacity unit tab to enable the weight and the volume constraints and set the capacity units.
Distribution centres
If you want to edit the information on the distribution centres, go to the Distribution centre tab. Clicking the distribution centre name or address will open the distribution centre edit form.
Here you can edit any information you need, except for the distribution centre name and address.
Breaks
To select the type of break and configure the dynamic breaks to be temporarily applied and for the current planning day, use the Driving time tab.
The following parameters are configured by default for each driver settings:
Break duration (45 minutes)
Driving time before break (every 4.5 hours of driving)
Duty time limit before break (every 6 hours of work time)
Allowed break shifts (2 hours).
But these dynamic break parameters can also be configured by the dispatcher for the current planning date.
