Distribution centres: Distribution centre parameters

To make configuration easier, we've split Distribution Centre settings into three sections:

  • Basics – General information and key details.

  • Operating Hours – Define working hours and availability.

  • Execution Settings – Control operational preferences and rules

Distribution centre parameters are described in the table below.

Distribution centre name.

Reference number

The DC's unique reference to be used in the system. This reference is required to ensure more effective operation with them via API. Start typing the DC name, and the Reference number field will be auto-filled. A reference may consist of letters and/or numbers.

  • The reference number should be unique. If the reference is not unique, the system will not save it, and will remind you about it.

  • If you do not provide a unique reference in your CRM, MaxOptra will create it for you automatically.

Distribution centre address can be filled by clicking the point on the map or by typing in any part of the address with automatic search by the integrated geocoding system.

Dispatcher

This parameter is not specified when creating a distribution centre: it is filled automatically after creating the Glossary with the Dispatcher role and the current distribution centre selected. Such user can perform planning for the distribution centre.

Driving time correction factor

This setting is found in vehicle settings within constraints. This setting allows you to adjust the driving time for a specific DC. Driving time correction factor set up at the DC level is used as a default value for all the vehicles of this DC, but can be changed for a specific vehicle, if necessary (see Vehicle parameters ).

Daily driving limit

Limits the driving hours per working day. This field is used for quick changing of Duty time limit parameter for all Glossary assigned to the distribution centre.

Run duration limit

Maximum run duration per shift. This may be useful for cases when your driver makes multiple runs each day and you want to restrict the time each run can take.

Duty time limit

Limits the total working hours of a driver during the day, which includes driving, loading and unloading, waiting, etc. This field is used for quick changing of Duty time limit parameter for all Glossary assigned to the distribution centre.

Collections only after deliveries

This setting is used if you want all your collections to be planned after all your deliveries.

Start and End points of day

This setting is found in driver settings > execution This setting allows drivers to start and end their work day at locations other than the depot. The "Distribution centre" is used by default. For more details, see Start and End Points of Day .

Time of operations

Days of week and "from… to…" time for each day when the distribution centre is ready to deal with orders loading to vehicles. The default time of operations is set on the Time windows screen of the Settings tab.The DC operation time will be used by default as the driver's Driver parameters . Thus, when creating a new driver, you do not have to set availability hours individually - just use the default ones. But you can also change these values any time, if necessary. For your convenience, use the buttons next to the time windows :

  • Click the

    button to quickly select the days of the week, to which this time window is applied.

  • Click the

    button to quickly clear the time window.
