Order time window within customer location time window validation

Written by Arthur Ashdown

When delivering orders, companies draw on delivery time windows set in the customer locations parameters. Orders also have specified delivery time windows. It happens that the order time windows may vary from the customer location delivery time windows. To verify the order and the customer location time windows suitability you may use the option of order time windows within the customer location time windows validation.

How to set up the "Order time window within customer location time window validation" feature in MaxOptra

How the "Order time window within customer location time window validation" feature works in MaxOptra

When importing orders from an import file MaxOptra validates the orders time windows within the time windows specified in the customer locations parameters.

If the order time window is within the customer location time window (i.e. the start of the order time window is not earlier than the start of the customer location time window, and the end of the order time window is not later than the end of the customer location time window), then the order time window specified in the import file will be saved for this order.

If the order time window overruns the customer location time window (i.e. the start of the order time window is earlier than the start of the customer location time window, and/or the end of the order time window is later than the end of the customer location time window), then MaxOptra will display an import error warning, for example:

  1. The start of the order time window is earlier than the start of the customer location time window. Order time window: 17.04.18 7:00 AM - 17.04.185:00 PM. Customer location time window: 17.04.189:00 AM - 17.04.188:00 PM.

  1. The end of the order time window is later than the end of the customer location time window. Order time window: 17.04.186:00 AM - 17.04.189:00 PM. Customer location time window: 17.04.182:00 AM - 17.04.188:00 PM.

In such cases, you may correct the order time window or accept it as it stands.
