Email Communications Update

Written by Arthur Ashdown

We have identified that you are using Microsoft as your email service to send customer notifications with MaxOptra and want to inform you of some recent changes at Microsoft which will affect you.

Since January 2022, Microsoft have been contacting clients advising them of this change and have offered the opportunity to extend use of basic auth until March 2023. Clients which did not request an extension have been switched off since 31/12/2022.

What does this mean for you?
If you have already requested an extension then you have until March 2023 to implement a suitable email service.

If you have not requested an extension then you will not currently be sending email notifications to your customers.

What do I need to do?
There are many specialist bulk email services available and the majority of our clients use such services. The only requirement is that your service supports basic auth.
If you use your own email provider then you will need to contact [email protected] to set up relevant DKIM and SPF records with your IT team.

Alternatively you can use our SMTP service (Amazon SES) From Address: [email protected] Contact [email protected] to configure your account.
